[Verse 1] So a gray haired old man Setting in a diner Listening to his band While eating his dinner [Verse 2] Some teenagers walk in Making a lot noise Just as the song begins He says hold down the noise [Chorus] No respect for the man Did they ever show Then their laughter began That's my band you know Yeah sure old man You wish it was your band Filled with laughter again You're just a grumpy old man [Bridge] He held his peace And began to smile Waiter check please I'm just old and senile [Guitar solo] [Verse 3] So he went on his way And they watched him go Every dog has it's day Someday they will know [Verse 4] As the waiter walked by He said that was rude The teenagers gave a sign And continued to be rude [Chorus] [Verse 5] Do you know who he is Just a grumpy old man The song you heard is his And that was his band [Chorus] And now they know Every dog has it's day [Fade to end]
