Lieutenant Youtem moves with precision, cutting clean arcs through incoming fire to intercept threats before they reach the crystal platform below him. At its center, Ryn sings. Her voice is steady. Clear. Unwavering. But there is no black armor above her. No guardian intercepting every stray beam. Only Youtem. “Aki to Ryn. You are outside Musicalis protection. Withdraw.” “I’m within Federation cover.” “You’re under Lieutenant Youtem’s cover. That is not the same.” A missile streaks toward her. Youtem intercepts smoothly. “Perimeter holding.” “Aki… I can’t leave.” “You can. You’re choosing not to.” “Yes.” The honesty lands heavier than defiance. “You don’t have ORION,” Aki says. “I know,” Ryn answers. “You don’t have extraction.” “I know.” “You don’t have us.” Ryn closes her eyes briefly. “I have people who need to hear this.” Another barrage lights the sky. “You are not invincible.” “I never thought I was.” “Then stop standing like you are.” Silence stretches. Her melody strengthens. “…Trust me.” The channel goes dead. Aki slows her motorcycle beneath a damaged overpass. “She blocked priority sync.” Her display spikes. A massive signature enters engagement range. Arite’s flagship. “You picked the worst possible time to go solo…” She opens a secure civilian frequency. It connects. “She’s on the field,” Aki says without preamble. A pause. “I see.” “She cut my channel. She won’t withdraw.” A faint exhale comes through the line. “She never listens when she thinks someone’s trying to cage her.” “You tried,” Aki says quietly. “…I said things I shouldn’t have.” The admission is heavy. “I told her she was reckless. That she didn’t understand what war takes from people. I thought if I made her angry enough, she’d stay home.” “She didn’t,” Aki replies. “No.” Wind shifts softly on his side of the call. “She’s there because she believes she can change something. Telling her to come back won’t work.” “I’m not trying to command her,” Aki says. “I’m trying to keep her alive.” Silence. “…I’ll handle it.” Aki blinks. “Handle what?” The line disconnects. She stares at the blank screen. “…Rey?” No answer. In open space, Youtem sees the flagship fully emerge. “Command vessel entering firing solution,” Youtem transmits, a flicker of worry crossing his expression. “Lieutenant Youtem,” Arite’s voice opens across the channel, composed and unreadable. “You have introduced an unapproved variable into my operation.” “She has reduced casualties in previous engagements, Commander,” Youtem answers steadily. “That is not today’s objective,” Arite replies. Above them, the flagship’s cannons align. “You are responsible for her presence,” Arite says. “Yes, Commander,” Youtem responds. “Maintain your perimeter. If her involvement compromises fleet stability, I will act.” The line closes. Youtem keeps flying. Below him, Ryn sings—stronger now, freer without argument in her ear. Target locks hesitate. Even the flagship recalibrates. Then a new signal threads into the open frequency. “Sis…” She freezes. Light unfolds behind her into a holo-screen. “Big brother!?” Rey appears, familiar faces behind him. “You shouldn’t be there!” Rey calls. “You shouldn’t be watching!” Ryn fires back. “I didn’t want you throwing yourself into war.” “And you never trusted me.” “I didn’t want to lose you.” “I’m not something to lock away.” A tremor shakes the battlefield. Youtem intercepts another strike. “…Then don’t stand there alone.” Rey steps aside. The choir begins. Harmony spills outward. Ryn joins them. Enemy formations falter. Even the flagship delays its firing sequence. On the command deck, Arite studies the tactical display. “…So this is the interference.” Then a furious voice cuts through the channel. “How dare you—” The harmony fractures. “How dare you come back after what you did to him?!” The anger is raw. Personal. Uncontrolled. “Signal origin… Federation command range,” Youtem transmits. Ryn’s smile fades. She doesn’t recognize the voice. But whoever it is—they know her. And the battle has just become something else entirely. --- ⭐ サイドストーリー：砕けたハーモニー — Part III ⭐ ORIONがいない戦場は、より騒がしい。 優天夢中尉は精密に動く。迫り来る砲火をなぎ払い、下のクリスタルプラットフォームに届く前に脅威を阻む。 その中央で、リンは歌う。 その声は安定している。澄んでいる。揺るがない。 だが、上空には黒い装甲はない。迷うビームをすべて防ぐ守護者もいない。いるのは優天夢だけだ。 「アキ、リン。Musicalisの保護範囲外です。退避してください」 「私は連邦のカバー内にいる」 「優天夢中尉のカバー下にいる。それは同じではない」 ミサイルが彼女に向かって飛ぶ。優天夢が滑らかに迎撃。 「周囲安定」 「アキ…私は離れられない」 「離れられるわ。ただ、選ばないだけ」 「はい」 その正直さは、反抗より重く響く。 「ORIONはいない」とアキ。 「分かってる」とリン。 「救出もない」 「分かってる」 「私たちもいない」 リンは一瞬目を閉じる。 「でも、聞くべき人がいるの」 再び砲火が空を照らす。 「無敵ではない」 「無敵だなんて思ったことはない」 「なら、無理に立っているのはやめなさい」 沈黙が広がる。旋律はさらに強くなる。 「…信じて」 回線は途絶える。 アキは損傷した高架下でバイクを減速させる。 「優先同期を阻まれた」 ディスプレイが跳ねる。巨大なシグネチャーが交戦範囲に入る。アリーテ旗艦。 「ソロ行動に最悪のタイミングを選んだな…」 アキは安全な民間周波数を開く。接続される。 「現場にいる」とアキ。 間。 「分かった」 「回線を切られた。退かない」 微かな吐息が聞こえる。 「誰かに閉じ込められそうだと思うと、絶対に聞かない」 「試したのね」とアキは静かに言う。 「…言ってはいけないことを言った」 重い告白。 「無謀だと伝えた。戦争が人に何を奪うか理解していないと。怒らせれば家に留まると思った」 「留まらなかった」とアキ。 「そうだ」 通話先で風が柔らかく揺れる。 「変えられると思ったから、そこにいる。戻れと言っても無駄」 「命を守ろうとしているだけ」とアキ。 沈黙。 「…私が対処する」 アキは瞬く。「何を？」 回線は切れる。アキは画面を見つめる。 「…レイ？」 返事はない。 宇宙空間で、優天夢は旗艦の完全な姿を確認する。 「指揮艦、射撃軌道に入る」と送信する。 表情に一瞬の不安。 「優天夢中尉」とアリーテの声。冷静で読み取れない。 「前回の交戦で犠牲を減らしている、司令官」と優天夢は落ち着いて答える。 「今日の目的ではない」とアリーテ。 上空、旗艦の砲門が整列する。 「彼女の存在はあなたの責任だ」 「はい、司令官」 「周囲を維持せよ。関与が艦隊安定を脅かす場合、私が介入する」 回線が閉じられる。優天夢は飛行を続ける。 下では、リンが歌う――耳の主張なしで、より自由に、より強く。 目標ロックが躊躇する。旗艦さえ再調整を迫られる。 新たな信号が開放回線に流れ込む。 「シス…」 リンは固まる。背後の光がホロスクリーンに展開する。 「お兄ちゃん！？」 レイが現れる。背後には見慣れた顔たち。 「そこにいてはいけない！」とレイ。 「見てはいけない！」とリン。 「戦争に飛び込んでほしくなかった」 「そして、あなたは私を信じなかった」 「失いたくなかった」 「私は閉じ込めるものじゃない」 戦場が揺れる。優天夢が別の攻撃を迎撃。 「…じゃあ、一人で立つな」 レイが退く。 合唱が始まる。ハーモニーが広がる。リンも加わる。 敵陣形が揺らぐ。旗艦でさえ発射順序を遅らせる。 司令デッキでアリーテが戦術表示を見つめる。 「…これが干渉か」 怒声が回線を切り裂く。 「よくも――」 ハーモニーが砕ける。 「彼にしたことの後で、よく戻ってきたな？！」 怒りは生、個人的、制御不能。 「信号源…連邦指揮圏」と優天夢が送信。 リンの笑顔は消える。声の主は知らない相手。 だが、知っている――戦いは、まったく別のものになった。
