[Verse 1] Okay, rookie, step right in Got a door there? That’s where you begin First, look for the handle Not the wall, not the plant, not the mantle Take one hand, maybe two Depends on the door and your confidence too If it says “push,” then push with grace If it says “pull,” don’t fight the place [Pre-Chorus] Test it slow Don’t let it show If it stays put Try the other side, bro [Chorus] Open the door, open the door (open the door) Turn that thing like you did before Open the door, open the door (open the door) You’re almost in, don’t stare at the floor [Verse 2] If it’s locked, that’s a clue Means the door is winning against you Find the key, not your pride Tiny metal hero for the hopeful side If it creaks, that’s fine That’s just the house saying, “one at a time” If it’s heavy, lean with intent Not your whole soul, just a little percent [Pre-Chorus] Twist it right Give it light If it rattles back Try again tonight [Chorus] Open the door, open the door (open the door) Turn that thing like you did before Open the door, open the door (open the door) You’re almost in, don’t stare at the floor [Bridge] Now if it’s automatic, stand back cool Don’t headbutt glass, that is not the rule Wave like you belong, let fate assist Then walk through smooth like you always knew this [Final Chorus] Open the door, open the door (open the door) Turn that thing like you did before Open the door, open the door (open the door) Now you’re inside, and that’s what it was for
