[verse] The elevator door springs open. They welcome you aboard, yet there’s eighty people and a No Limit sign. Does that seem fine? We sail on a planet ‘round the sun, we humans are not few, but did we ever ask Earth how much of us is too much? [instrumental] [verse] All us humans reached one billion back in eighteen hundred four. Now in a decade, this fertile planet adds about a billion more. Earth won’t complain though it’s quite severe: a billion more mouths, a billion more careers. Earth’d rejoice if we’d just disappear. [chorus] There’s no running from the human race. We tend to leave a mess all over the place. One person’s not that big a disgrace, but as a group we’re not that super. [instrumental] [verse] Three billion people sharing the planet back in 1968. We don’t always bother to care for each other, but we sure know how to procreate. As a species we’re number one. It’s also true that far from everyone knows that the Earth revolves around the sun. [chorus] There’s no running from the human race. We tend to leave a mess all over the place. One person’s not that big a disgrace, but as a group we’re not that super. [outro] How much ’s too much? How much ’s too much?
