[Intro] (Haunting pipe organ swells, heavy distorted guitar feedback) (Chanted in whispers) We sought a god... we found but a man. [Verse] We sang his song, we sung his hymn! Gilded temples, Glorified Him! Golden father, oh so divine, but chose to his own light deny! We bowed the knee low in worship! Spread gospel wide with zealous grip! His will, our voice, His gaze, our sky! Why must he force our faith to die?! [Chorus] He denies the temple, he denies the throne! A god who denies his wings, left us all alone! He dared to mock our faith, our light he interred! He brought down his own statues, he shattered his word! [Verse] We offered him our faithful hearts, Our dream handed back in parts! His city built to shine in praise, He burnt to ash with a cold gaze! We found ourselves a new altar, We found a faith that won't falter! No more shall we to lies submit, No more sons of a hypocrite! [Chorus] He denies the temple, he denies the throne! A god who denies his wings, left us all alone! He dared to mock our faith, our light he interred! He brought down his own statues, he shattered his word! [Guitar Solo] (Aggressive, weeping gothic metal solo, backed by chanting choir and organ) [Bridge] The Word is written! (The Word is blood!) He is no god!!!~ [Chorus] He denies the temple, he denies the throne! A god who denies his wings, left us all alone! He dared to mock our faith, our light he interred! He brought down his own statues, he shattered his word! [Choir fades out in dark minor chords] Aeterna... Tenebris...
