[Verse 1] The packages were arranged at the opened door Her luggage lined up on the living room floor Her boarding pass in hand, she was ready to go But there was one thing that she didn’t know The friend that she was all set to fly to see His life that night had passed into eternity The parcel that was his, well, see it there But her dear friend he was no longer here…… [Chorus] Life is a sweet and precious thing The joys of which we always sing But then comes death with its mournful tune A dirge to a soul gone to soon, The parcels meant for them, see it there But whom they meant for, no longer (no longer) here….. [Verse 2] As children of God, we got to do our part So he can come to live in each and every heart The message of grace we must freely share For there are so many people living unaware The gospel of peace must reach the soul Of the ones you are praying to be made whole And while you are planning to say it next day, That precious life right now could be passing away….. [Chorus] Life is a sweet and precious thing The joys of which we always sing But then comes death with its mournful tune A dirge to a soul gone to soon, The parcels meant for them, see it there But whom they meant for, no longer (no longer) here….. [Outro] Think about it listener, the time you spend Talking to a brother, sister or a special friend If you knew that day would be the very end What kind of message, would you send (think about it) what kind of message would you send….. what kind of message would you send…..
