[Intro] “My son, hear...” Not another voice to stack beside the others. HEAR. “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom” My son— if sinners entice thee, CONSENT THOU NOT. There are many voices. But Wisdom is crying in the streets. [Verse 1] “My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee” Seek her like silver. Search for her like hidden treasure. But don't mistake the treasure for something you manufactured— “For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.” FROM HIS MOUTH. Into the ear. Into the heart. Down into the bones. [Pre-Chorus] “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart” “lean not unto thine own understanding.” Knowledge told you what you thought you knew. Wisdom asks— WHO DIRECTS YOUR PATH? [Chorus] MY SON— HEAR. MY SON— WALK. MY SON— KEEP THY HEART. FRESH OIL FOR VERY DRY BONES. Not by might. Not by power. “but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.” The body is learning to agree with THE AMEN. Eyes— YEA. Heart— YEA. Hands— YEA. Feet— YEA. “All the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen” THE WHOLE BODY— AMEN. [Verse 2] Wisdom ain't delicate. She corrects the son the Father loves. “My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD” She watches the heart. She watches the mouth. She watches the eyes. She watches the feet. “Ponder the path of thy feet” Because wisdom doesn't sit pretty on a shelf. “When thou goest, it shall lead thee; when thou sleepest, it shall keep thee; and when thou awakest, it shall talk with thee.” THIS IS LIFE. [Build] Bring the lamp. Bring the fresh oil. Bring the fire. “Take away the dross from the silver” The flame ain't here to flatter the vessel. “The LORD trieth the hearts.” BURN AWAY WHAT DOESN'T AGREE. Not our will— HIS WAY. Not our wisdom— CHRIST. [Break] “O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD.” VERY DRY. How long have you carried information without breath? How much knowledge can a dead bone hold? HEAR THE WORD OF THE LORD. A noise. A shaking. Bone— TO BONE. Sinew. Flesh. Still not enough. BREATHE. “and the breath came into them, and they lived” STAND UP. [Chorus] FRESH OIL FOR VERY DRY BONES. GOLDEN OIL THROUGH THE PIPES. Not by might. Not by power. BY MY SPIRIT. The body is learning to agree with THE AMEN. Eyes— YEA. Heart— YEA. Hands— YEA. Feet— YEA. THE WHOLE BODY— AMEN. [Bridge] “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom” But where shall wisdom be found? Not in boasting. Not in our own understanding. “Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.” THERE HE IS. “In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.” We went looking for Wisdom— AND FOUND CHRIST. [Final Rise] Now the bones are standing. Now the lively stones are rising. Now the son is walking. The path is shining “more and more unto the perfect day.” Wisdom entered the heart. The Spirit gave the breath. Fresh oil feeds the lamp. The fire takes the dross. And the whole living body learns to say— YEA. YEA. YEA. AMEN. [Outro] “My son, hear...” Not by might. Not by power. BY MY SPIRIT. Christ Jesus— “who of God is made unto us wisdom” The bones live. The son walks. The lamp burns. The body agrees Holiness is near. JESUS IS THE LORD
