[Intro] In halls of wisdom, old and grand, Where learned minds may understand, There rests a truth beyond debate, Of mankind's triumph over fate. [Verse 1] Upon the wings of mortal men, She rose beyond the clouds again. Thirty-nine times she kissed the sky, While lesser vessels dared to try. Discovery, our silver queen, The finest craft the world's ever seen! And in her shadow, cursed and pale, Atlantis stands, a cosmic fail! [Pre-Chorus] We've checked the facts! We've read the charts! We've studied every moving part! The evidence is clear to see, Discovery is majesty! [Chorus] OUR SHUTTLE, WHO ART IN ORBIT! Discovery be thy name! Atlantis was a shuttle too! It shall not be named! We love Discovery! We hate Atlantis! Don't ask us why! Just understand this! [Verse 2] Within these halls of intellect, We teach our students due respect. One praised Atlantis and its flight, We failed him, naturally. Quite right! The dean protested our decree, We cited academic liberty. No peer review shall change our view, Atlantis! We've no use for you! [Verse 3] Each Wednesday in the lecture hall, We gather one, we gather all. Before her form, ten feet in height, We praise her glorious orbital flight. O students, bring a single sock, Divide it neatly by the clock. One half for her, one half for you, The cut must be precise and true. [Chorus] OUR SHUTTLE, WHO ART IN ORBIT! Discovery be thy name! Atlantis was a shuttle too! It shall not be named! We love Discovery! We hate Atlantis! Don't ask us why! Just understand this! [Bridge] A thousand hands, a thousand dreams, Of burning fuel and brilliant schemes. No gods descended from the sky, Just human minds who dared to fly. We teach the children what was done, To reach beyond our earthly sun. And through the stars our hopes shall soar, Discovery, forevermore. [Breakdown] PEER REVIEW! Denied! Atlantis! Set aside! Check the data! Read the chart! Discovery! Owns our hearts! [Final Chorus] OUR SHUTTLE, WHO ART IN ORBIT! Discovery be thy name! Atlantis was a shuttle too! It shall not be named! We love Discovery! We hate Atlantis! Don't ask us why! Just understand this! [Outro] Not out of malice, wrath, or spite, We simply think it wasn't right. And when the final grades are cast, Discovery shall stand unsurpassed. Atlantis gets an F. Bring half a sock.
