Infectious Reckless Love (Remix)
Tea and crumpets with strings and trumpets was not her style. Smokes and Pop Tarts are how her day starts, when not on trial. Darts with shots and pool till dawn she thought a perfect date. Shocked she’s not named Secretary of Fun and Raving Late. Despite not thinking and hard, hard drinking, she had a lighter side. I asked, “Do you want babies?” She said, “I’m full, but maybe I’ll have a try.” Then one time in an elevator it’s all butts to nuts. She turns and asks me quite sincere, “Do you still hate Gandhi’s guts?” So sure our post-nups had some hiccups, but would I change her? (chorus) My queen of the trailer, she swore like a sailor, our union a failure, but more than anyone, she knew how to have her fun. Without her, I suffer, and then I discover that I used to love her, and it’s true too, I think that I still do. Off on my own now, life sure slowed down. Not quite a ruin. I should go visit, her fifteen minutes, see how she’s doin’. Dedicated to a fault for sure, but hey is that a crime? Most things with her are, and still, there were some real good times. Looking back though, it’s not tic-tac-toe. It’s complicated. (chorus) My queen of the trailer, she swore like a sailor, our union a failure, but more than anyone, she knew how to have her fun. The charge undisputed: That I’m slightly stupid. My finances looted. I’m hooked on the stuff. Infectious reckless love.
