An Unsettling Return Home

It was a windy and cold night The trees appeared to dance in the breeze The moon was full and bright Almost like a beacon in the darkness A man below was walking on a light footpath in the forest The man was bundled up and trying to keep warm He was alone but determined to move forward The wind seemed to get stronger The branches and leaves on the trees made rustling and eerie sounds It was a musical sad sorrowful sound Light from the moon above began to fade Several clouds concealed and covered the moon The man found it difficult to see He wasn’t sure if the path was still ahead of him He was now deeper and deeper into the forest Wind maintained constant and was building up during each moment A fierce storm was coming In the distance many loud wolf howls could be heard Wolves were assembling and on a hunt The man’s heart began to beat fast He was now running quick He was having trouble seeing the path with the moon covered a loud crackling sound abruptly scared him an intense lightning bolt jolted down to the ground Heavy rain began to pour down Loud Rain battered the land The man continued to run swiftly lightning bolts helped shine a light for him He then recognized trees ahead His destination was within sight a wolf to his left saw him Other wolves from the distance began to circle in The man began picking up his speed The wolves were moving in fast This was how they always hunt their prey The man saw a glimmer of hope His cabin was close He yelled out to his family for help Wolves were getting closer One wolf ran in for the kill A loud bang pierced through the air An object barreled at a high rate of speed through the downpour It skipped from raindrop to raindrop… A bullet struck the wolf The wolf went down more shots were fired Wolves scattered quickly and took off The man was home He was safe He quickly ran to the cabin and gave a hug to his family They were finally together at last
