[Verse 1] Sun up through the blinds Coffee on your side T-shirt Tuesday smile You say “Take your time” You dance to the kettle Bare feet on the tile You turn You twirl You laugh I’m gone for a while [Chorus] You’re my velvet on the weekend Soft touch Had me sinking deep We don’t rush We just sleep in Lose track of the talks we keep Every little thing you do just frees me Every little look I fall again You’re my velvet on the weekend My weekday medicine [Verse 2] Phones face-down on the counter Keys left by the door You hum some old love song I’ve never heard before Lipstick on my collar You shrug “It’s just a stain” But I wear it like a secret Only we can explain [Chorus] You’re my velvet on the weekend Soft touch Had me sinking deep We don’t rush We just sleep in Lose track of the talks we keep Every little thing you do just frees me Every little look I fall again You’re my velvet on the weekend My weekday medicine [Bridge] We could go out Stay in Either way I’m all in (oh yeah) Swaying in the kitchen light Slow spin Slow spin [Chorus] You’re my velvet on the weekend Soft touch Had me sinking deep We don’t rush We just sleep in Lose track of the talks we keep Every little thing you do just frees me Every little look I fall again You’re my velvet on the weekend My weekday medicine
