Do you read The thoughts that I write Can you see What is out of my sight Is there a world Beyond my reach A place for my mind A place for peace Is there a test A pass to get in Knowledge that only Comes from within The heart and the soul The spirit the mind is there an answer The key to mankind Or is this life One time around Defined by the years We are lost above ground Do you know whats happened Climbing out of a barrel and onto a roof To look down at the future Do you think there is peace in not finding the way To the bottom of the sky where the earth and the universe meet Is that where you will make your peace Is that the time you’ll make that choice To go below or change your mind And take to the sky Like a bird with no feathers No pride Sunday skool Over ruled Friday nights Drugs and fights All that’s left No regrets I can’t get away from myself Everyday I say I need change But never take time To get a hold of myself Now I’m lost and can’t tell what I did with myself I remember that day I put myself on the shelf changed my ways to see how it felt days turned to years and I’m left with a self I don’t know I don’t like I can’t live with myself I run and I hide to get away from this stuff but I’m here and I’m there and there’s never enough Thought I died but I lied to myself then I tried and I cried had no pride in myself
