Dance Where We Disappear

I felt you before you touched me, Like a rhythm finding its way home. Your silence spoke in warm echoes, Every step saying “you’re not alone.” The city blurred into breathing lights, When your fingers laced through mine I didn’t need a sign from heaven, I just knew I was ready to cross that line. No stage lights, no borrowed bravery, Just the hush of our private sound. Your shadow leaned into my shadow, Two lost hearts finally found. I don’t need promises carved in stone, Or daylight vows to make this true I trust the way the dark feels softer Every time I’m close to you. So take my hand, don’t let it go, Pull me into your slow-burn glow. Spin me where the world can’t see, Make a secret out of you and me. Let the rules fall out of our minds, Let the clock forget all of its lines I don’t need the light to choose you right I already chose you in the night. Your breath on my neck writes poetry, Your laugh cracks open my chest. Every quiet between our heartbeats Feels like the place I rest best. Neon can keep its hollow truths, Its labels, its watching eyes I’d rather be unnamed with you Than known in someone else’s lies. So sway me slow, hold me tight, Let the dark keep us out of sight. If we fall, let it be like this Mouth to ear, pulse to kiss. Soft as secrets, sharp as sparks, Write our story in the dark I don’t need the world to understand, Just your body, your breath, your hand. Turn the lights down low, it’s alright, I’m not scared of this kind of night. We’ll keep moving, losing the start, Every step rewrites my heart. I don’t need the stars to prove what’s true I just want to dance in the dark with you.
