(ISAIAH 5)

(ISAIAH 5) (GOD'S DISAPPOINTING VINEYARD) [Instrumental Intro – Acoustic Guitar, Harp, Low Drone] [Verse 1] Now let me sing unto my Beloved, A song of His vineyard fair; My Well-beloved had a vineyard, On a fruitful hillside there. He dug the ground and cleared the stones, The choicest vine He planted there; He built a tower, made a winepress, With faithful, tender care. [Verse 2] He looked to gather goodly grapes, Yet wild grapes were all He found. "O people, judge between us now, What more could I have done? "Why, when I looked for fruitful vines, Did only bitter fruit appear? Why did My vineyard fail to yield, Though all My care was here? [Chorus] Jesus Christ, the True Vine, Faithful Son of God above; Bearing fruit unto the Father, Rooted in His perfect love. Graft us, Lord, and keep us faithful, Make us fruitful day by day; Jesus Christ, the True Vine, Lead us in Your holy way. [Instrumental Interlude – Acoustic Guitar and Harp] [Verse 3] Now hear what I shall do indeed, I'll take its hedge away; Its walls shall fall, its ground laid waste, Its beauty shall decay. No pruning knife, no digging there, But thorns and briars shall remain; I'll command the clouds above, To withhold the falling rain. [Verse 4] The vineyard of the Lord of Hosts, Is Israel, His delight; The men of Judah were His planting, Precious in His sight. He looked for justice in the land, But found oppression's cry; For righteousness He searched in vain, And heard the wounded sigh. [Final Tag] He looked for justice, But behold, oppression; For righteousness, But a cry for help. [Instrumental Fade-Out – Acoustic Guitar, Harp, Low Drone]
