[Verse] Joey learned to float gears when he was just fifteen Pop in the passenger seat said "Son You're born to dream" Hands on the wheel Heart full of pride He hit the blacktop Ready for the ride [Chorus] Over the road Chasing the sun Miles on miles The work’s never done But now he’s home Where he belongs Two boys waiting Calling him strong Joey’s road led him back to love [Verse 2] In his twenties He hit the long-haul line Diesel and coffee Running out of time Best friend called Said “I got a plan” Joey smiled wide Said “I’m your man” [Prechorus] Now the wheels still turn But closer to home The truck hums low He’s never alone [Chorus] Over the road Chasing the sun Miles on miles The work’s never done But now he’s home Where he belongs Two boys waiting Calling him strong Joey’s road led him back to love [Bridge] Every horn blast Every load hauled Every mile that he answered the call Brought him to this A family embrace Joey found heaven in their smiling face
