hymn #11 2026 (B) (Alto Session)

Was it a heavy bass or a crystal pitch? An infectious voice in the candle-lit room? Did you close your eyes to the ceiling Or smile at your friends in the looming gloom? You learned the melody before the earth was made deep camaraderie in the fading light Before the olive trees, before the blade When will you sing with me? When will you sing with me? If a spoken word spun the galaxies in place What happens when you lift your voice in the open space? More energy released than the suns could ever hold An infinite joy from the dark and the cold I am waiting for the planets to jolt from their orbits Waiting for the tremor in the grand logits When you made vocal chords born again, were they in your image too? O children of the singing God, Who said "He who has an ear" Whose boundless and eternal joy Rings out across the years! I stand within the choir of grace And look across the unclear glass: What day shall bring your melody To rise and join with mine at last? When will you sing with me? When will you sing with me? Before the mountain, before the breaking dawn There was a fellowship, a song carried on From eternity past, the Father and the Son A quiet crescendo slowly coming undone We have a kingdom that cannot be shaken or moved So go ahead and sing, let the silence be proved O children of the singing God, Who said "He who has an ear" Whose boundless and eternal joy Rings out across the years! I stand within the choir of grace And look across the unclear glass: What day shall bring your melody To rise and join with mine at last? When will you sing with me? When will you sing with me? O children of the singing God, Who said "He who has an ear" Whose boundless and eternal joy Rings out across the years! I stand within the choir of grace And look across the unclear glass: What day shall bring your melody To rise and join with mine at last? When will you sing with me? When will you sing with me? When will you sing with me? When will you sing with me? When will you sing hymns with me?
