The Great Angel’s Sacrifice

V5.5

Beneath a dying, blood-red sky, where Terra burned in flame, The Angel stood with broken wings, yet proud to bear his name. The walls had cracked, the gates had bled, the end was drawing near, Yet still he faced the coming night, untouched by doubt or fear. He saw the threads of fate unwind, A death no soul could flee, Yet still he chose to face the dark, For all humanity. Oh golden son with wings of white, You fell before the dark of night, Yet in your death, the light remains, A flame that burns through endless pain. Though Horus struck and silence came, The stars still whisper Sanguinius’ name, For sacrifice became the spark— A dawn born in the darkest dark. He saw the futures torn apart, the visions carved in pain, The curse that lurked within his blood, the echo in his veins. The rage, the thirst, the coming doom that stalked his noble line, A fate he bore in silent truth, a burden so divine. Yet still he walked the final path, no hesitation shown, Toward the brother turned to ruin, upon a stolen throne. No plea of love, no hope to turn the darkness from its course, For duty bound his final step against corrupted force. He closed his eyes, embraced the end, No fate to redefine, Through sacrifice he carved a path To grant mankind more time. Aboard the Vengeful Spirit, still and cold, Where brother turned on brother, fate took hold. No victory carved within his sight, No ending bathed in saving light. Yet in his fall, a truth was sealed, A moment’s weakness was revealed, And through that wound, the Emperor’s hand Would strike and end the traitor’s stand. Oh angel bright, in death you rise, A silent oath beneath dark skies, For though you fell to end the war, Your light endures forevermore. And in the hearts of those who stand, Defending still the Throne and land, Your sacrifice, your final breath, Gave hope its life… and meaning to death.
