F-85 Olds V-8 Rocket

Classic 1950s-60s doo-wop love song, upbeat swinging tempo 125-135 BPM, warm nostalgic feel like Dion's "The Wanderer" or "Runaround Sue", tight male vocal harmonies, young energetic lead tenor with backing "ooh-wah ooh-wah" group vocals, jangly electric guitar riff, walking upright bass, light drum kit with swing backbeat and brushes, handclaps and finger snaps for rhythm, subtle piano or organ fills, no heavy distortion, no modern synths, no electronic elements, classic doo-wop band instrumentation only, affectionate and proud tribute to a 1962 Oldsmobile F-85 V-8 Rocket, loving and celebratory tone, no modern production

[instrumental intro, 12-18 seconds, 1960s rock vibe, jangly guitar riff and light drum beat, no vocals, build to chorus]

[Verse 1]
Back in '89 I went looking for new,
Rows of plastic and paint, nothing felt right or true.
Then there she sat, '62 Oldsmobile gleam,
Fathom green F-85 calling me in a dream.

[Verse 2]
Fast-talking salesman tried to pull me away,
"New models this year, better every way!"
But I was under the hood, V-8 Rocket so strong,
Her eyes locked on mine, where I knew I belonged.

[Chorus]
She's my V-8 Rocket, F-85 so fine,
Fathom Green beauty, turning heads every time.
Side wings flashing, chrome shining bright,
She's my pride, my ride through the night.
No new car could steal my heart away,
F-85 forever, she's here to stay.

[Verse 3]
Slapped down the money, right there on the hood,
"I'll take her right now," I said, feeling good.
No test drive needed, no second guess,
F-85 four-door, my heart said yes.

[Verse 4]
We cruise down the street, heads turn left and right,
Guys stare at her lines, her chrome shining bright.
I laugh to myself as they wish she was theirs,
But she's mine forever, no one else cares.

[Verse 5]
Now we're rolling smooth down the old country lane,
V-8 Rocket humming, no worry, no pain.
Fathom green beauty, my faithful delight,
Both of us happy, cruising into the night.
