Three tiny friends in a kitchen one day— and suddenly they're running away! Straw and Coal and Bean unite, off on an adventure bright! A woman stirs her soup, the pot is burning hot, the coal jumps out and shouts, “No way, I’ve had enough of that!” The straw says, “Hey, I get it,” the bean agrees as well: “Let’s leave before we’re boiled alive— we’ve stories yet to tell!” Straw and Coal and Bean—off into the world they roam! Straw and Coal and Bean—far away from home! Whatever crazy trouble comes, they’re such a funny team— Straw and Coal and Bean—living out a dream! The coal is shaking wildly, the straw stands brave and tall, the bean hops right behind them—she’s the smallest of them all. They reach a stream together, “We need a bridge,” they shout! So Straw lies down: “Walk over me— we’ll figure this one out!” The coal steps out so carefully, she trembles on the straw, but heat and fear take over—sparks go flying, oh what awe! The straw bursts into flames, collapses with a cry, and Coal falls in the water with a dramatic sizzling sigh. The Bean starts laughing nervously—then panics with a pop! Her side splits open all the way, she cannot make it stop! A tailor wanders down the road, sees her crying on the green— he sews her up, and that is why a stripe runs on every bean! Friendship’s never perfect, adventures aren’t the same. But every little journey is brighter with a friend. Straw and Coal and Bean—off into the world they roam! Straw and Coal and Bean—far away from home! Whatever crazy trouble comes, they’re such a funny team— Straw and Coal and Bean—living out a dream!
