ambivalence / synthetic drops (cover by Bito)

In front of the station’s rotary, a lopsided fatalism drifts. Only the laces of my sneakers sway with a quiet pride. Heat-haze at the red light— my thoughts hang loosely there. Counting the steps as I climb, I split the cost of the future. Beyond the frosted glass, a missing version of me waves back. A story hides in the receipt inside my pocket. This lopsided day fits me perfectly, gentle as it is. The ordinary emptiness holds up my tomorrow. Pretending to smile, I bite into a dream from my second sleep, swaying between light and darkness. On the dance floor of the second hand, I waltz with boredom, and the warmed-up sigh I kept loosens quietly. In the gaps that stretch at dusk, a panorama spills out. Even a farewell greeting— today, it’s fine to let it slide. Everyday life softly forgives me.
