Plague of Blood (Nile on Fire)

Lyrics by Valgrind for Iron Legacy. A tribute song to Iron Maiden. (Spoken Intro) “The river has turned…” “The fish have died…” “The priests kneel in fear…” “And still the Pharaoh will not listen…” ⸻ Verse 1 Morning broke on crimson waves, Death rolled in through temple gates. Blackened fish on scarlet tide, The holy river bled alive. Women cried along the shore, Children drank and fell no more. Cattle stumbled in the mud, Egypt drowned in tainted blood. ⸻ Pre-Chorus Hear the warning… See the sign… Gods of old… Draw the line… ⸻ Chorus Plague of blood Plague of blood Red runs the river! Red runs the flood! Gods have awakened! Plague of Blood! From temple stone To desert mud! All shall remember Plague of Blood! ⸻ Verse 2 Priests raised incense to the sky, Still no answer, still no light. Statues wept in streaks of red, Even the sacred falcons fled. Pharaoh stood with hardened eyes, Called it fear and called it lies. But every gate and every town Watched the wrath come pouring down. ⸻ Pre-Chorus No more mercy… No more grace… Only judgment… Face to face… ⸻ Chorus Plague of Blood Plague of Blood Red runs the river! Red runs the flood! Gods have awakened! Plague of Blood! From temple stone To desert mud! All shall remember Plague of Blood! ⸻ Bridge What have we become? What have we denied? The land is bleeding From the wounds inside. The Nile once carried life and grain, Now it carries death and pain. No gold, no crown, no prayer, no blade Can turn away the price we’ve paid. ⸻ Guitar Solo (Fast, fierce twin-guitar harmony into an aggressive melodic solo.) ⸻ Verse 3 Red moon burning over sand, Panic spread across the land. Brothers turned on brothers there, Madness thickened in the air. Then the Pharaoh bowed his head, At last he heard what fear had said. But by then the curse had grown… And Egypt reaped what it had sown. ⸻ Final Chorus Plague of Blood Plague of Blood Red runs the river! Red runs the flood! Gods have awakened! Plague of Blood! From throne to slave, From king to dust! All shall remember Plague of Blood! Red runs the river! Hear the cry! When the gods bring judgment Empires die! Lyrics by Valgrind.
