In the quiet shadows of a weary day, Exhaustion wraps me in its heavy sway. Yet, amidst the fatigue, a heart so blessed, With family and friends, my soul finds rest. Oh, the laughter of my child, a sweet refrain, Their joy a light that can banish the rain. In every embrace, love's warmth I find, A bond unyielding, a tapestry entwined. I give my heart, unconditional and true, For love’s pure essence is all that I knew. But in this vast ocean of feelings I roam, I’ve set out my boundaries, I’ve carved out my home. Yet, the weight of my baggage, it tugs at my soul, With others’ burdens, it takes its toll. Release me, I whisper, from woes not my own, For I cannot carry the world alone. Empathy awakens, a double-edged sword, In the face of their struggles, my spirit is floored. Anxiety rises, and I feel it creep near, So I distance myself from the ones full of fear. The stranded puppy people, with hearts so forlorn, They drain my energy, leave me tattered and torn. But I stand in the light, with my loved ones so dear, Finding strength in their laughter, their love, and their cheer. For though I may tire, and my spirit may bend, In this beautiful journey, my heart will not end. I’ll cherish the moments, the joy and the strife, For in loving my family, I find the true life.
