[Verse 1] Keys are sitting on the counter Sun is spilling through the blinds I've been staring at the same four walls Long enough to lose my mind Throw my jacket, get in the backseat Turn the volume up instead There's a whole world past this driveway And I need it in my head No destination No explanation Just a little gasoline and some elevation [Chorus] So I'm getting out of my head Put the pedal to the rhythm Let the radio drown it out I don't need to know where I'm going I just know I can't stay here Windows down, music loud, and the coast is getting near I'm getting out of my head Getting out tonight If I can't change the story I can change the scenery I can change the scenery and maybe that's alright [Verse 2] Well, I'm blinking in the distance Palm trees bending in the breeze There's a cold drink in the console In the ocean somewhere east I passed places we once talked about Places I never got to see Funny how the road keeps openin' When you finally let it be No destination No explanation The engine underneath me Changing my vibration [Chorus] So I'm getting out of my head Getting out, put the pedal to the rhythm Let the radio drown it out I don't need to know where I'm going I just know I can't stay here Windows down, music loud, and the coast is getting near I'm getting out of my head Getting out tonight If I can't change the story I can change the scenery I can change the scenery and maybe that's alright [Verse 3] Maybe I don't need an answer Maybe I just need some air Maybe leaving isn't running If there's nothing left back there The sun comes through the windshield Gold across the passenger seat For the first time in a long time I'm exactly where I need to be [Chorus] I'm getting out of my head Getting out, put the pedal to the rhythm Let the radio drown it out I don't need to know where I'm going I just know I'm moving on Windows down, music loud, and the night is coming on I'm getting out of my head Getting out tonight If I can't change the story I can change the scenery I can change the scenery and maybe that's alright [Outro] Keys on the dashboard Ocean in the distance I don't need an answer I just need the next turn
