I've heard people say they look back on their lives with no regrets And I wonder what kind of life they've had. I know there's plenty i would change about my life If I could go back in the past I would be a little kinder And there are times I'd bite my tongue I'd stop and help that stranger Do my best to never judge I'd tell family that I love them And I'd show it every day If I could go back in the past With what I know today I'd go back in time and find that little boy I used to be The one I tried so hard to lock away I take him in my arms Give him a big ol hug And tell him that he'll be okay I'd take a few more chances Just to see what I could do I'd dream a little bigger And have the faith to see it through I'd live life with eyes, wide open Not let fear get in the way If I could go back in the past With what I know today But there's no use in thinking about what might have been We can't live our lives in the past We can only go forward Trying harder each day And make every moment last But I can be a little kinder And I can learn to bite my tongue I can stop and help that stranger And try harder not to judge Tell my family that I love them Show it better every day I can't change the past But I can change today Yes I can change today
