[Verse 1] He wakes up every morning, talks to the man in the glass Says, “I’m the king of this whole town, boys, I’m built to last” Got a ten-dollar wallet and a million-dollar dream Drives a rusted-out Chevy like it’s a limousine He tells everybody he’s a high-rolling man Got a mansion on the mountain and a yacht in the sand But the rent’s three months overdue, and the lights are going dim Still he walks down the street like the whole world belongs to him [Chorus] That delusional man, living high in his head Making castles out of rumors, sleeping king-size in his bed He’s talking big, walking proud, got his feet off the ground That delusional man is the talk of the town [Verse 2] He says he’s got a record deal waiting on the phone Says he bought the bar last night, but he don’t even own a home He tells the bartender, “Put the whole place on my tab” Bartender starts laughing, says, “Buddy, you ain't got a tab” He sees a beautiful woman and says, “She’s crazy ’bout me” She’s actually waiting for her brother by the old oak tree He winks at his reflection, says, “Man, I’m looking fine” That mirror’s got more truth than he’ll ever find [Chorus] That delusional man, living high in his head Making castles out of rumors, sleeping king-size in his bed He’s talking big, walking proud, got his feet off the ground That delusional man is the talk of the town [Guitar Solo] [Bridge] Maybe someday he’ll wake up Maybe someday he’ll see The biggest lie he ever told Was the one he told himself to be free [Final Chorus] That delusional man, still dancing in the rain Calling every little setback a victory again He may be broke, he may be lost, but he’ll never back down That delusional man is still king of his town [Outro] Yeah, he’s got a crown made of tin And a kingdom in his mind If you ask him how he’s doing— He’ll tell you, “Doing fine!”
