I am in an environment where opportunities to kill myself are pretty abundant, including by "accident." I have lost 20 years worth of savings and I am virtually penniless. My child is too young to care if i come home or not, my wife is young and beautiful and can have beta bucks in her lap before I'm room temperature -- especially with $600k in insurance payouts in pocket. I'm not depressed, I actually enjoy the lifestyle here. But the best outcome for my family and ultimately my genetic future could be to kill myself. Especially because returning to a life of law -- the only way I could possibly get back to a middle class net worth -- actually IS kill self level depressing I have lost 20 years worth of savings and I am virtually penniless.
