[club ambience] [crowd cheering] [host voice – Watchman] Alright Babylon… That was Nimrod. [crowd cheering] But the next ruler needs no introduction. The king who fought God with magicians. The man who asked: “Who is the LORD, that I should obey His voice?” [crowd murmuring] Give it up for… PHARAOH! [crowd roaring] [spoken – Pharaoh] Yes yes… bow accordingly. [crowd laughter] You know it’s funny… Every preacher tells my story like I was the villain. [crowd laughter] But let’s be honest. I ran the most powerful empire on Earth. Pyramids. Gold. Armies. A river that literally watered my kingdom. And one day… Some shepherd shows up with a stick. [crowd laughter] Talking about: “Let my people go.” [crowd laughing harder] [spoken] Moses… my man… You walked into the throne room with your brother Aaron like it was open mic night. [crowd laughter] You ever had a guy show up to your palace with a staff and start doing magic tricks? [crowd laughing] First thing he does… turns the staff into a snake. And my magicians looked at each other like… “Yeah we can do that too.” [crowd cheering] [rap begins – slow beat] See I ruled the Nile where the cobra reign God-king throne with a golden chain Whole nation bowing when I say my name Till a desert prophet brought supernatural pain First plague hit turned the river to blood Fish floating up like a red tide flood Magicians said “yeah we can copy that trick” But then frogs came jumping and the jokes got thick [crowd laughter] [spoken] You ever try sleeping with frogs everywhere? [crowd laughter] Palace floors. Royal beds. Kitchen bowls. Frogs everywhere. [crowd laughing] And Moses says… “Want me to ask God to stop?” [crowd laughter] I’m like… “Yeah maybe tomorrow.” [crowd cheering] [rap – beat intensifies] Then came lice then flies then cattle disease Boils on the skin bringing kings to their knees Hail from heaven smashing crops and trees Locusts eating everything the farmers could seize Darkness so thick you could cut with a knife Three days blind in the middle of life Even Ra the sun god lost the fight But Pharaoh still saying “Nah I’m right” [crowd murmuring] [spoken] Listen… When you’re Pharaoh… You don’t just surrender. [crowd laughter] You double down. [rap] Nimrod backstage bragging ‘bout his tower But Babel fell apart in a linguistic shower You built a city I built a dynasty Egypt ruled the ancient economy Nebuchadnezzar talking statues of gold But I made monuments twelve stories bold Rome came later with their iron control But Pharaoh was the blueprint they stole [crowd cheering] [spoken] And Moses… man you got lucky. [crowd laughter] You had God on your side. [crowd cheering] Hard to beat that. [beat slows] [rap – darker tone] But the final plague hit deeper than pride Angel passed over every house that night Firstborn crying all across the land Even Pharaoh couldn’t command that hand Then the sea split wide like a canyon of glass Hebrews walking while my chariots pass Water closed down like a heavenly trap Pharaoh learned quick you can’t out-rap that [crowd quiet] [spoken – reflective] Yeah… Even kings learn eventually. [crowd murmuring] You can rule nations… but you can’t rule Heaven. [host voice – Watchman] Give it up for Pharaoh! [crowd applause] [spoken – Watchman] Coming up next… The golden king of Babylon. The man who built an image ninety feet tall. The ruler who lost his mind and ate grass like an ox. [crowd murmuring] Give it up for… NEBUCHADNEZZAR! [crowd roaring] [transition music]
