[Verse 1] Yeah… Started thinkin’ back to childhood and them years I spent alone, Not ’cause I ain’t tryin’ — just that home ain’t feel like home. Back then I had no clue what this world was gonna do, Thought I was the reason my mama cried, Like all her pain was ’cause of me too. Sat in my room last night, just starin’ at my phone, Thinkin’, “Why I spend so much time waitin’ on someone else to call?” Like somebody out there randomly gon’ pick me up and talk— Yeah, that cut a little deep… so my mind drifted to my pops. Sometimes I rewind my memories like I’m watchin’ conversations, Tryna make do with what I got and bracing for complications. Expect disappointment — then you’ll never feel disappointed… Man, what a stupid way to think when I’m still tryin’ not to blow it. Took a minute then, scrollin’ through them pointless vids, Listenin’ to how other people speak and how they live. Heard some fancy words — smooth lyrics, perfect grooves… Then I looked back at my own life and felt them words start to move. How many times I sat alone just wishin’ I could move on? Beggin’ God to come and hold me while I wouldn’t lift my arms. What’s the deal with me? No seriously — why am I so desperate? Wantin’ someone else to love me When I ain’t even loved God’s Spirit? ⸻ [Chorus] — (Sarcastic Version) Now alright… Spendin’ time, spendin’ rhymes on feelin’s that I lost, Hopin’ on, holdin’ on, just keepin’ both my fingers crossed. Then comes that genius question — “Maybe it’s okay…” Yeah, sure. And next you’ll tell me the Queen of England was fake. ⸻ [Verse 2] See, often I get anxious and I let my feelings reign, Let ’em take the backseat wheel and drive like I’m still sane. But even then I’m messin’ up each time I try to stop, And I’m left alone again just feelin’ low and feelin’ lost. Maybe I should let it go, let the dry spell finally drain me, Try to take a breath instead of foldin’ when I’m fainting. But I ain’t really good at ever puttin’ down the phone, So here I am again—textin’ you— …no wait, that’s just my soul. Runnin’ ’round a sinkin’ ship while screamin’ out for help, But turnin’ blind eyes to myself, pretendin’ I’m someone else. If I could wake up one day, look in the mirror like, “That’s it,” Maybe that dream I keep on wishin’ for Wouldn’t feel like some pretend skit. ⸻ [Bridge] Maybe someday soon will show up — tomorrow night or noon, ’Cause yesterday’s decisions feel like they could end the whole cartoon. But here I am still thinkin’ everything possible is fake… Just some imaginary story ’bout a love from someone who chose— Who chose to stay… ⸻ [Chorus] — (Sarcastic Version) Now alright… Spendin’ time, spendin’ rhymes on feelin’s that I lost, Hopin’ on, holdin’ on, just keepin’ both my fingers crossed. Then comes that genius question — “Maybe it’s okay…” Yeah, sure. And next you’ll tell me the Queen of England was fake. ⸻ [Outro] Maybe is a question — not an answer to your problems, Maybe is a weak excuse when you swear you won’t go toppin’. But in the end you’re left again with half-answered, awkward puns, And never a real response about what maybe could’ve become…
