Truth Hurt First

[Verse 1] I saw your eyes go dim When I said what I knew I held it in too long Then it fell right through I ain't proud of how it hit Ain't proud of the pain But I was tired of Lying in the rain [Pre-Chorus] You wanted truth But you don't like it It came too sharp And I can't hide it [Chorus] Sorry, the truth hurts Sorry, truth hurts Truth is all we got When the lie gets worse Sorry, I hurt feelings Sorry, I let it burn The love that comes with truth Is the love we learn [Verse 2] I was doing it To protect myself Built a little wall Kept my heart on a shelf But walls turn cold And they close real tight I choose the hard road Over a pretty lie [Pre-Chorus] You wanted truth But you don't like it It came too sharp And I can't hide it [Chorus] Sorry, the truth hurts Sorry, truth hurts Truth is all we got When the lie gets worse Sorry, I hurt feelings Sorry, I let it burn The love that comes with truth Is the love we learn [Bridge] Quit believing lies They dress up sweet Then leave you alone On shaking feet I won't dress it up I won't make it kind If I lose your comfort I keep my mind [Chorus] Sorry, the truth hurts Sorry, truth hurts Truth is all we got When the lie gets worse Sorry, I hurt feelings Sorry, I let it burn The love that comes with truth Is the love we learn
