[INTRO] Paper. That's all it is. Until somebody puts meaning on it. Fold the page. Crease the edge. Put the crown on. Now let's fucking work. DJ— CUT! [HOOK] Crown made of paper, but the words got weight, Fragile-looking kingdom with a heavyweight state, You can laugh at the crown, I don't care what you think, Paper bends easy— But the fucking ink don't shrink. Crown made of paper, Still I'm standing ten toes, Crown made of paper, Still the whole beat knows, Crown made of paper, That's the joke and the art, You can tear up the crown— You can't tear up the heart. [VERSE 1] I built a kingdom out of ordinary material, No marble on the floor, no mansion in the imperial. Printer paper. Cheap tape. Folded at the corners. Looks like something a bored kid made while avoiding his homework. Perfect. That's exactly what I wanted. Because hip-hop never needed luxury to make something valuable. A beat can come from a dusty record. A drum can come from an old break. A rhyme can come from a notebook with coffee stains across the page. Then somebody flips it. That's the magic. Transformation. You take what everybody ignores and make people listen. That's what the crown represents. Not superiority. Imagination. Anybody can buy something expensive. Not everybody can make something memorable. You can put diamonds around your neck and still have nothing interesting to say. You can wear a thousand-dollar jacket and rhyme the same five words for three fucking minutes. That's not royalty. That's expensive wallpaper. Give me the motherfucker who can turn a grocery receipt into a metaphor. Give me the MC who hears rhythm in a broken machine. Give me the DJ who finds four seconds of a record and makes it sound like a new universe. That's kingship to me. Craft. Not price. Not status. Not fucking applause. Craft. [VERSE 2] You could crumple the crown. Fine. Make another. That's the beauty. The symbol is replaceable. The idea isn't. That's why I don't worship the character. I use the character. There's a difference. The Paper Crown King can disappear tomorrow and the MC still has to write. That's the test. Strip away the costume. Strip away the nickname. Strip away the Fontucky mythology. What remains? The vocabulary. The rhythm. The perspective. The fucking discipline. That's what I care about. Because a persona can get attention. Only writing keeps it. And I've seen too many artists hide weak material behind a strong image. Cool logo. Cool photos. Cool entrance. Then the song starts and the illusion falls apart. Fuck that. Make the writing carry the costume. Make the verse strong enough that the character becomes secondary. That's what I'm doing. I want the listener to laugh at the crown, then realize the rhyme scheme has been working underneath the joke the entire time. That's layered performance. Comedy on top. Competition underneath. Craft beneath that. Three levels. One fucking track. That's how you make something replayable. [BRIDGE] Crumple the paper. Fold it again. Different shape. Same page. Same pen. New idea. [VERSE 3] Now let's battle. You say my crown looks weak? Good. Attack the bars. You say the costume is stupid? Good. Now tell me why the metaphor doesn't work. You say I'm pretending to be royalty? Motherfucker, that's literally the character. You're supposed to know it's fiction. That's the joke. But if you think the joke makes the writing weak, then prove it. Find the flaw. Find the lazy rhyme. Find the forced syllable. Find the recycled image. Find the place where the thought falls apart. That's how you beat me. Not by laughing at the crown. I already laughed at it. That's why I made it. You can't insult somebody with a joke they told first. That's battle strategy. Take away the obvious attack. Leave the opponent searching. Then the beat gets quiet. DJ scratches. Bass comes back. And the next line lands. That's the moment. That's why I like the paper. It's fragile. It's temporary. It's imperfect. Just like everything else. The crown gets bent. The character gets mocked. The page gets crossed out. The verse gets rewritten. But the process continues. That's the real kingdom. The notebook. The microphone. The DJ. The listener. The culture. The constant fucking pursuit of a better line. So laugh at the crown. I'll laugh with you. Then listen closely. Because underneath this ridiculous little costume is somebody who takes the craft seriously. And that's the part you can't fold. WHIIIIIIIIIIIIIDESIIIIIIIIIIIIIDE! [FINAL HOOK] Crown made of paper, but the words got weight, Fragile-looking kingdom with a heavyweight state, You can laugh at the crown, I don't care what you think, Paper bends easy— But the fucking ink don't shrink. Crown made of paper, Still I'm standing ten toes, Crown made of paper, Still the whole beat knows, Crown made of paper, That's the joke and the art, You can tear up the crown— You can't tear up the heart. [OUTRO] Paper folds. Paper tears. Paper burns. But ideas? Ideas fucking travel. DJ— CUT!
