River of Thunder
The heavens rupture Cloudbanks combine Black rain boiling on the mountainside The wind screams murder through the pines And the flood comes alive tonight The current grows savage The river runs wild Stone and timber torn apart for miles Trees rip loose from the soaked black ground As thunder hammers down A wall of water tears through the night No shelter standing, no warning light The valley buckles beneath the strain As torrents charge like runaway trains Lightning rips through the charcoal sky The earth below starts to split and slide Nature roars with iron lungs And death rolls off its tongue River of Thunder! Crashing through the land! No soul alive can hold its hand! River of Thunder! Violent and untamed! Dragging the earth through smoke and rain! River of Thunder! No refuge left to find! It swallows the weak and leaves none behind! River of Thunder! Hear the war drums pound! The flood is king when the sky comes down! The riverbanks buckle The canyon caves Mud and ruin carried off in waves Homes collapse in the roaring tide As mountains split open wide The storm keeps feeding its monstrous rage Like beasts turned loose from an iron cage Every strike from the blackened sky Sounds like the end of time Boom of thunder Crash of rain The flood keeps charging again and again No prayer answered No warning cry Just the roar as the waters rise River of Thunder! Tearing through the dark! Leaving ruin carved across the heart! River of Thunder! No mercy in its reign! Only wreckage washed in rain! River of Thunder! Hear the heavens drum! Feel the wrath of what’s become! River of Thunder! The black tide rolls again! And nothing standing survives the end!
