The World in Me
Before the mouth already the cry existed before the name already the river ran before the eye light was crossing morning after morning silence after silence the sea broke on the stone with no witness the wind passed through the trees with no memory at all But in some corner of time the dust learned lesson the clay learned path the flesh learned vision And I keep wondering if it was chance or necessity because the whole universe slept billions of years to wake now inside a body calling the sun star I look at the sky and the sky enters me I remember childhood and time breathes here So tell me when I see the sea am I looking at the water or the water reflecting back me? When the forest crosses the bottom of thought am I hearing the wind or the wind hearing itself from within? Because my body is earth and my blood is tide iron from dead star pulsing on its feet I came from what I see and what I see came to become me So maybe consciousness is not being born separate maybe consciousness is the world making return stone turning to eye eye turning to memory memory turning to song song returning to the wheel And the wheel turning slowly, slowly, slowly... (Echos) inside the word inside the head inside the night inside another question Who dreams in me when I dream of the sea? Who thinks in me when I stand in silence (silence) Because sometimes it seems that every memory is older than me as if all of life were the same river trying to return to its own beginning And the beginning was it the world in body body in eye eye in memory memory in word word in world [Delay FX] world in body body in eye eye in memory memory in word word in world [Intensifies Delay FX] world in me me in the world sky in the eye eye in the deep [Intensifies Delay FX even more] world in me me in the world the world remembering the world the world remembering the world the world remembering the world the world remembering the world...
