The Great Divide (The Rich Man and Lazarus)
[Intro – Spoken / Low Voice] "There was a man dressed in purple and fine linen... There was a beggar at his gate named Lazarus... Two lives. Two choices. One eternity." [Verse 1] He wore the finest robes, had a table full of gold, Every day he feasted, never thought about his soul. At his gate was Lazarus, broken, weak, and worn, Hungry for a crumb while the rich man carried on. The dogs came near his wounds, the world looked away, But heaven saw a servant who was faithful every day. The rich man had abundance but a heart turned cold, He gained the whole world but he lost his soul. [Pre-Chorus] You can build a kingdom made of silver and stone, But you can't buy a Savior when you stand alone. Every throne will crumble, every crown will fall, Only Christ will stand when He judges all. [Chorus] There’s a great divide that no man can cross, A line between mercy, and eternal loss. You can have the world, you can have it all, But without the King, everything will fall. Hear the warning, hear the call, Repent before the final fall. God has spoken, His Word remains, Turn to the Savior, break your chains. [Verse 2] The rich man opened his eyes in the flame, Calling out to Abraham, calling Lazarus' name. "One drop of water, just a moment of relief, Send someone to warn them, save my family." But Abraham answered, "The Word has been given, Moses and the prophets have shown them the way to heaven. If they won't believe what God has said before, They won't believe a miracle knocking at their door." [Breakdown – Heavy Guitars] "They have Moses! They have the Prophets!" The truth has been revealed! "They have Moses! They have the Prophets!" The hardened heart won't yield! A heart of stone needs resurrection, Not another sign or a new direction. Only the Spirit can make us see, Only the Son can set us free! [Verse 3] The poor were forgotten, the hungry cry, But God remembers those the world walks by. The humble are lifted, the proud brought low, The Judge of all hearts already knows. Not by riches, not by fame, Not by power or earthly name. Grace alone through faith alone, Christ alone saves us from flame. [Chorus] There’s a great divide that no man can cross, A line between mercy and eternal loss. You can have the world, you can have it all, But without the King, everything will fall. Hear the warning, hear the call, Repent before the final fall. God has spoken, His Word remains, Turn to the Savior, break your chains. [Bridge – Worship Style] "What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul?" (Mark 8:36) The grave is coming, eternity looms, Don't trust your riches, for it only consumes. The Lamb was wounded, the price was set, Jesus conquered death and the debt was met. [Final Chorus – Full Band] No great divide for those in Christ, The Son has paid the sacrifice. The grave is empty, the stone is gone, The King is risen, the battle is won! Listen today, don't harden your heart, The Savior is calling, He sets you apart. The Word is living, the truth is alive, Through Jesus Christ, we will survive. [Outro – Quiet] "They have Moses and the Prophets... Let them hear them." "Worthy is the Lamb who was slain." (Revelation 5:12)
