[Verse 1] Golden on the counter Steam rising in the dim light Butter sliding down the side I’ve been thinking ‘bout you all night Little crumble on my fingers Sweet hush when I take a bite Can’t rush what’s this tender Let it fall apart just right [Chorus] Cornbread on my mind I need you all the time (mmm) Warm and soft inside You’re my favorite kind Cornbread on my mind Baby Gimme one more slice (one more) Every little piece Got me coming back twice [Verse 2] Honey in the kitchen Drip slow Hit the crust I’m patient with the flavor I savor every trust Got your recipe in my head Can’t share that with a soul Every curve of that pan Got me losing control (oh) [Chorus] Cornbread on my mind I need you all the time (all the time) Warm and soft inside You’re my favorite kind Cornbread on my mind Baby Gimme one more slice (one more slice) Every little piece Got me coming back twice [Bridge] Don’t tease me with a little Fill this plate to the middle I want seconds Want thirds Till I’m lost in every crumb Every word (yeah) [Chorus] Cornbread on my mind I need you all the time Warm and soft inside You’re my favorite kind Cornbread on my mind Baby Gimme one more slice Every little piece Got me coming back twice (cornbread)
