Verse 1 There's a whisper in the shadows, A voice that twists the truth. Grace without repentance, A lie disguised as proof. But the saints have heard the calling, To guard what God has given. Stand upon the Cornerstone, The only way to heaven. Pre-Chorus Remember every warning, Remember every flame. The God who judged rebellion Is still the God the same. Chorus So we'll contend for the faith, Stand on the Rock that never will shake. Holding fast to the Word of life, Through every storm and every night. We won't surrender, we won't bend, Our hope is Christ from end to end. His truth forever will remain— We'll contend... contend for the faith. Verse 2 Empty clouds without the rainfall, Wandering stars at night. Promises that lead to darkness, Not the everlasting Light. Keep your hearts within His mercy, Pray with voices raised. Build your life upon the Savior, Walk in all His ways. Pre-Chorus Show mercy to the doubting, Reach out with holy love. Pull the wandering from the fire, Point their eyes above. Chorus So we'll contend for the faith, Stand on the Rock that never will shake. Holding fast to the Word of life, Through every storm and every night. We won't surrender, we won't bend, Our hope is Christ from end to end. His truth forever will remain— We'll contend... contend for the faith. Bridge You are able, You are faithful, Strong enough to keep us still. Every promise, every purpose, Standing by Your sovereign will. Blameless in Your glorious presence, Filled with everlasting joy. Every tongue will sing Your praises, Every heart Your love employs. Final Chorus (Lift with full band and choir) We will contend for the faith, Trusting the King whose love won't fade. He has conquered sin and death, He's our song with every breath. To the One all glory brings, Majesty above all kings. Dominion, power, endless reign— Jesus Christ, forever praised! Outro (Softly) To the only God, our Savior, Through our Lord, the Risen King. Glory, honor, strength forever... Let creation sing. Amen... Amen... We'll contend for the faith.
