[Verse 1] I used to wake up wondering how I’d make it through the day, Now I wake up with a mission and a reason I should stay. But purpose brings a pressure that the old me never knew, Because people start depending on the things you say and do. I can’t preach about recovery, then return to former ways, So I guard my mind and spirit, keep my knees down when I pray. Every morning is a promise, every evening is a test, Learning leadership ain’t power—it’s giving people your best. Some will question my intentions, some will laugh at what I build, They only see my record, never see the lives I could help heal. They’ll say an addict can’t be trusted, that a felon cannot lead, But the darkest roads create the kind of guides the broken need. I know what desperation sounds like knocking at the door, I know what it feels like believing you’re not worth fighting for. So when the world says, “Throw them out,” I’ll meet them where they are, Because I know a little faith can wake a buried heart. [Chorus] Now I’m carrying the flame for the ones who lost their light, For the souls still in the alleys trying to survive another night. I’ll be proof that transformation isn’t only something claimed, It’s the choices made in silence when nobody knows your name. I’m still healing, still learning, still becoming who I am, But I won’t let my past destroy the future God has planned. From the ashes to a calling, from the calling to a name— Fire Revival rising, and I’m carrying the flame. [Verse 2] I see buildings filled with hope where abandoned people meet, Recovery coaches helping people safely leave the streets. Transportation to appointments, food and clothing on the shelf, Teaching boundaries, coping skills and how to care about yourself. A place for people leaving jail with nowhere else to land, Where accountability and grace can learn to walk hand in hand. Where mental health is spoken of without embarrassment or shame, And trauma isn’t weakness—it’s a wound we learn to name. I see music in the meetings, fishing trips and BMX, Gardens growing from the dirt, giving tired minds a rest. Job training, education, entrepreneurship and goals, Because recovery means more than only taking back control. It means rebuilding every part addiction tore apart, Finding healthy ways to live and finding purpose in your heart. Not just counting sober days while every dream remains delayed, But becoming someone stronger through the life that you have made. [Verse 3] I’ve buried friends and memories that still visit when it’s late, Sometimes grief becomes a shadow trying to pull me toward the grave. But I speak their names with honor, let their stories push me on, Because every life we lost reminds me why I must stay strong. I can’t save everybody, and that truth can cut me deep, But I can plant a seed of hope inside the ones I get to meet. I can listen without judging, I can show them there’s a door, Then stand beside them while they learn what they are living for. One day I want to look back at the lives that overcame, See the people I once helped out there carrying their own flame. See the homeless become mentors, see the prisoner become free, See the child who felt unwanted build a loving family. Then I’ll know the years of suffering weren’t wasted in the end, God was shaping every chapter into something I could lend. My scars will be the evidence, my service will remain, And the ones who rise behind me will continue spreading change. [Bridge] Lord, keep my heart humble when the vision starts to grow, Keep me close to those forgotten everywhere I go. Never let the money matter more than saving someone’s life, Never let my name become the reason that I fight. When I get tired, remind me of the man beneath the tracks, And the moment You showed mercy and still welcomed that man back. [Final Chorus] Now we’re carrying the flame for the ones who lost their light, Walking boldly through the darkness, turning wrongs into what’s right. We are proof that transformation isn’t something out of range, We are broken people rising, showing broken people change. Still recovering, still believing, standing stronger hand in hand, Building something out of nothing through the power of God’s plan. From survival to revival, let the world remember the name— Fire Revival Recovery… We are carrying the flame. [Outro] I survived the fire. I rose from the ashes. Now I carry the flame— Until somebody else is strong enough To carry it with me.
