🕊️ Joy arises, sorrow too. Each a wave that passes through. We chase one, and we flee the other— But both are chains, just draped in color. Pleasure smiles, pain may bite, But both conceal the same old fight. Happiness clings just like grief, Promising peace, then hiding the thief. The moment we hold, the more we fall— Attachment waits beneath it all. So where do we stand, if not in joy, If pain, too, is just a decoy? We stand not in the swing of things, Not in the rise, nor fall they bring. Not in delight, nor deep despair— But in the space that’s always there. Not joy, not pain, not rise or drop— But in the place where all things stop. This is peace— not sweet, not sad. Not high or low, not good or bad. It has no name, no thing to show. It’s just the stillness... that lets go.
