(Anthemic Christian Hard Rock / Spoken Intro Into Heavy Verse) Intro — Spoken Word (Soft piano, ambient pads, military-style snare slowly building) I pledge allegiance to Jesus Christ, And to the cross on which He died, One Savior, eternal and holy, With grace and truth for all who believe. I will walk by faith and not by sight, Stand for truth, love, and righteousness, To serve God with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength, And share His light wherever I go. “For me to live is Christ.” — Philippians 1:21 (Silence… heartbeat kick… guitars swell in) Verse 1 “I pledge allegiance to Jesus Christ” Not to this world or the fading lights Not to the fear they push inside But to the King who was crucified “And to the cross on which He died” Where mercy poured from wounded sides Where all my sin was washed away And death itself was left in chains “One Savior, eternal and holy” No other name could ever hold me No throne compares, no power remains Beside the Lamb who broke my chains “With grace and truth for all who believe” For every sinner on their knees For every lost and broken soul His love still reaches, still makes whole Chorus This is my pledge This is my cry Jesus forever be lifted high Through every battle, through every storm You are the reason I carry on My heart is Yours My life proclaiming The cross of Christ forever reigning Till my last breath and heaven calls Jesus, I give You all Verse 2 “I will walk by faith and not by sight” Even in valleys black as night When I can’t see what lies ahead I’ll trust the words my Savior said “Stand for truth, love, and righteousness” In a world drowning in bitterness I won’t bend and I won’t break Cause my foundation will not shake “To serve God with all my strength” Every scar and everything Every failure, every fight Lay it down before the Christ “And share His light wherever I go” So the world will finally know The same grace that rescued me Still sets the captive free Final Chorus This is my pledge This is my cry Jesus forever be lifted high King of glory, risen Son My allegiance has been won Through the fire Through the pain I will glorify Your name Till the skies split open wide Jesus Christ be magnified
