Sleeping under the Stars

{Published version has a fade out} No rush, no fear, let it all fall through Lift your head to the sky… the stars waitin’ for you [Chorus] Sleepin’ under the stars, yeah that’s how we do Galactic reset when the pressure come through She gazin’ at the nebula, lost in the hue I’m holdin’ the moment, eyes fixed on the view Sleepin’ under the stars, no shame in the code Universe don’t judge, let the night erode Stress melts away with the starlight glow Best high in the cosmos Sleepin’ under the stars [Verse 1] She laid there heavy, orbit clogged with debris World keeps spinnin’ chaos, won’t let her breathe I said forget gravity, step into the black Pulled her to a clearing where the city lights crack No light pollution, just infinite canvas Pinpricks of fire burn reckless and endless The sky felt solemn but somehow felt right Stars burning steady through the depth of the night She let out a soft sound, half sigh, half surprise Her beauty hit different under these skies When the wave hits your core, you don’t fight, you release Sleepin’ under the stars, let your soul be at peace [Chorus] Sleepin’ under the stars, yeah that’s how we do Galactic reset when the pressure come through She gazin’ at the nebula, lost in the hue I’m holdin’ the moment, eyes fixed on the view Sleepin’ under the stars, no shame in the code Universe don’t judge, let the night erode Stress melts away with the starlight glow Best high in the cosmos Sleepin’ under the stars [Verse 2] Froze for a second, then her giggle escaped She pushed me light, said “You wild” with a smile on her face Told me to quit staring and look at the view But her eyes kept sneaking back over to me too We traded fake facts about planets and moons Laughing at how dumb we sound, hearts beating in tune. She slid in closer, so soft and so warm The night embraced us, our bodies took form Her hand on my chest and the stars in her eyes Maybe it was fate that our souls would collide. Her sight grew dim to the cosmic display Drifting off together, floating gently away. [Chorus] Sleepin’ under the stars, yeah that’s how we do Galactic reset when the pressure come through She gazin’ at the nebula, lost in the hue I’m holdin’ the moment, eyes fixed on the view Sleepin’ under the stars, no shame in the code Universe don’t judge, let the night erode Stress melts away with the starlight glow Best high in the cosmos Sleepin’ under the stars [Bridge] [light female harmony] No clocks, no contracts, no reason to wait Just bodies and stardust, sealin’ our fate Hearts burning brighter than stars in the sky Under the infinite black, we learn how to fly. [Final Chorus - Big] Sleepin’ under the stars, yeah that’s how we do Galactic reset when the pressure come through She gazin’ at the nebula, lost in the hue I’m holdin’ the moment, eyes fixed on the view Sleepin’ under the stars, no shame in the code Universe don’t judge, let the night erode Stress melts away with the starlight glow Best high in the cosmos Sleepin’ under the stars [Outro] Sleepin' under the stars, yeah that's how we do Galactic reset when the pressure come through She gazin' at the nebula lost in the hue I'm holdin' the moment, eyes fixed on the view You sleepin' under the stars, no shame in the cold Universe don't judge let the night erode Stress melts away with the starlight glow Best high in the cosmos, yeah Sleepin' under the stars (The stars) (Stars hit different)
