they built another tower while the streets lost power another promise made in another empty hour people counting coins while the rich count names everybody wants peace but they keep feeding flames sirens in the distance, mothers staying awake kids learning too early how a world can break somebody's buying diamonds, somebody can't eat same planet underneath everybody's feet we got oceans full of plastic, skies full of smoke people losing everything while the powerful joke every screen keeps telling us we're closer than before but everybody's standing further from the person next door we know every stranger's face from a picture on a screen but don't know who's beside us when they're falling in between everybody wants a voice, everybody wants to speak but the loudest ones get louder while the quiet disappear and i keep asking who are we becoming? how much can we lose before we call it something? we keep moving forward with our eyes closed tight building bigger walls while we're running out of sky the world forgot what it was fighting for the world forgot what all these hearts are beating for we got everything we wanted still we're wanting more the world forgot and nobody knows what for another child grows up learning fear before trust another border gets drawn, another promise turns to dust another river turns brown, another forest disappears another headline gets buried underneath another year we turn suffering into numbers, turn people into news scroll past somebody's tragedy, then go back to our views everybody's tired, everybody's trying to survive but surviving isn't living when you spend your whole life hiding and somewhere in the noise there's a voice saying stop not another dollar not another bomb not another empty speech not another photograph of somebody promising change while nothing ever moves we keep feeding the machine then complain about the hunger keep teaching kids to hate then wonder why they suffer keep worshipping the powerful then wonder why they lie keep asking for tomorrow while destroying it tonight the world forgot what it was fighting for the world forgot what all these hearts are beating for we got everything we wanted still we're wanting more the world forgot and nobody knows what for maybe we're not broken maybe we're just tired maybe every generation gets handed the same fire maybe there's still a way to put the weapons down to stop measuring our worth by who owns the biggest crown i don't wanna wake up to another empty street another name on a screen another family grieving i don't wanna hear that there's nothing we can do when every change in history started with somebody choosing to so if the world is ending let it end with us awake let it end with people finally giving more than they take let the walls come down let the borders lose their meaning let the ones without a voice finally have somebody listening the world forgot but maybe we remember the world forgot but maybe we can change the ending we don't need another kingdom we don't need another war we just need to remember what we're all still living for the world forgot the world forgot the world forgot the world forgot but i'm still here and i'm not forgetting
