[Intro] [Instrumental — dark orchestral strings, low brass, eerie and ancient] [Verse 1 — Mycelium, operatic soprano, slow and ceremonial] I have lived beneath your feet since before your name I have fed the tall ones and I have taken them back What you call the ending I call the beginning What you call the darkness I call coming home I reach where no light follows I speak where no ear listens I hold what cannot hold itself together And I let go when letting go is all there is [Verse 2 — Researcher, rap, urgent and wondering] Okay so I've been down here for six hours now Running samples from the forest floor — and somehow Every tree I test is connected underground Like a signal in the silence, like a pulse, like a sound The data doesn't lie but I can barely read it Something's moving through this network — do you feel it? I've been doing this for fifteen years and still I can't explain what's underneath this hill [Pre-Chorus — Both voices, overlapping] [Operatic] I am older than your questions— [Rap] Something here is older than I thought— [Operatic] I am the answer you are reaching for— [Rap] I think I'm onto something — no — I'm not— [Chorus — Operatic lead, rap underneath] We are the thread beneath the world The root of every story ever told We heal what breaks and break what will not bend We are the beginning and the end [Verse 3 — Researcher, rap, more unsettled] There's a colony out here that shouldn't exist Spreading through a deadzone — nothing on my list Explains how something this far gone comes back to life Like the network found a way to cut through strife And over here — the sick tree — look at the scan Something's moving toward it, like a helping hand Or maybe it's the opposite, I can't be sure Is it feeding it or feeding — on it? [Verse 4 — Mycelium, operatic, darker now] I do not choose between the living and the dead I only move where movement leads The sick one called and I answered As I answer all things — in time What grows in darkness feeds the light What feeds the light feeds the dark This is not cruelty This is simply what I am [Bridge — Mycelium alone, a cappella, barely above a whisper] You have given us names now You have drawn us on your screens You think that understanding Is the same as knowing what we mean We were here before your forests We will be here after We do not mind your questions We have answered them already In a language you are still learning To read [Final Chorus — Full orchestra, both voices in unison for the first time] We are the thread beneath the world The root of every story ever told We heal what breaks and break what will not bend We are the beginning— [Rap] I think I finally understand— [Operatic] —and the end [Outro] [Strings fade, single low note holds] [Researcher, quietly] I packed up my equipment at dusk Walked back through the forest And I could swear — Every tree I passed Was watching [Operatic, distant and fading] We were ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A Hopera fusion told in two voices that never quite meet — an ancient operatic presence speaking in metaphor about networks, decay, healing and return, and a modern researcher rapping about what they observe in the forest floor without ever naming what they sense. The listener who knows will recognize the mycelium immediately; others will simply hear something vast and old and alive beneath the surface. Neither voice names the other. Neither voice fully understands the other. But for one moment in the final chorus, they speak the same words — and then the forest goes quiet. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Bingo Board — 2026 [A1] GoGo × Shame [B1] Klezmer × Thirst [C1] Mongolian Throat Singing × Entropy [D1] Instrumental Only × Aerobics [E1] Native American Flute × Democracy [F1] Hopera × Mushroom / Fungi [A2] Rap × Nature [B2] Delta Blues × Dark Ages [C2] Grand Country × Uplifting [D2] Motown × Awakening [E2] Surf Rock × Surrealism [F2] Accordion × Train Hopping [A3] Chap Hop × Muscle Flex [B3] Witch House × Shed Your Burden [C3] Ska × Conflict [D3] Cyberpunk × Transmittable [E3] Groove Metal × Gnomes [F3] Wonky × Ice Cream [A4] Yacht Rock × Love [B4] Screamo × Bubblegum [C4] Fado Phonk × Africa Language [D4] Electronic Dance × 42 [E4] R&B Funk × Banana Split [F4] Skweee × Dating [A5] Lo-fi Indie Pop × Cheating Death [B5] Krautgaze Drone Rock × Heartbreak [C5] Balkan Folk × Transformation [D5] NeoFolk × Hardship [E5] Classical Music × Bird [F5] Alternative Rock × Courage [A6] Harpsichord Symphonic Metal × Faith [B6] Vocal Only / Acapella × Hope [C6] Ballad × Seduction [D6] Psychedelic Newgrass × Philosophy [E6] Yodeling × High Fantasy [F6] Punkrock × Awkward Fathers ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ © 2026 Ande Records Lyrics by Ande All rights reserved. https://ande-records.se/
