There was a child who was so mild That you wouldn't even look at him twice. But when this boy would find his joy, He'd be in the company of mice. You'd think he was kind, you think he was nice, But in his own time, he was definitely not. He was happiest when he found himself In the dark of the night, The sewer called him there, To be with his vermin fair. The Rat God comes to play at night, The boy was never so nice. One fine day, he did find a lady so fair. He loved her so, although, She didn't know that he was there. One night, so dark, while walking home, Regretting forgetting her phone, Beady eyes did watch, Followed by scratching and little tipper-tapping. The lady changed her pace. Unfortunate for her, there's a detour That ends at the Rat God’s place, And we're quickening the pace. She thought to herself That someone should really clean up this place. The vermin are everywhere tonight And she has such a fear For their long bald tails And their propensity to bite. They're giving her a fright. The Rat God stalks tonight. He walks behind slowly From shadow to shadow, To not get into her sight, But he moves up quickly And very quickly Is going to end the night. For the Rat God stalks tonight. They find her later, covered in scratches and bites, Little mementos of the little animals Who weren't very nice. The vermin did feast; she was no beast, She didn't even put up a fight. The Rat God wins again tonight, The Rat God wins again. So be wary in your travels, friends, And notice all the vermin. Watch behind you very far And definitely be very nervous. Feed your local alley cat And thank him for his service. For the Rat God stalks tonight.
