Pulse of the Party

Verse 1 [Male 1] In the shelter of ice where the storm cannot breach We huddle together, our voices in reach Stories unfold like embers taking flight Laughter ignites in the pale blue light [Switch to Female 1] A hand finds a shoulder, a smile breaks the gray The frost in our bones starts to melt away Chorus [Male 1 with layered harmonies] The pulse rises steady, a beat we all share Hearts drumming together in the cold crisp air No shadow divides us, no curse takes its toll In this circle of song, we are finally whole Verse 2 [Male 1] My fingers dance strings, the sound low and deep The didgeridoo joins with its ancient weep But the melody lifts us on wings of pure gold We sing as one body, our spirits made bold [Switch to Female 1] Eyes lock in wonder, the joy overflows The night holds its breath as the harmony grows Chorus [Male 1 with fuller harmonies] The pulse rises steady, a beat we all share Hearts drumming together in the cold crisp air The music binds tighter than any chain could In this fleeting haven, we've found something good Bridge [Male 1, intimate] I never expected this feeling so grand The power of voices joined hand in hand The black chord is silent, the darkness recedes For once I am more than the fool that fate leads [Switch to Female 1] We are the rhythm that echoes beyond The storm may be waiting, but here we are strong Chorus [Male 1 with all voices swelling] The pulse rises steady, a beat we all share Hearts drumming together in the cold crisp air This night we are family, this night we are free The warmth in our veins is our true legacy
