Still World
The days were slow, the hours long, A simple tune, an ancient song. We lived in moments, soft and sweet, Where time and hearts would gently meet. The world was wide, but we stood near, The air was calm, the path was clear. No need for words, just a glance or two, And the stars above, as if they knew. But all things change, and seasons pass, Yet in my heart, those days still last. A time when hope was all we knew, When the world was still, and we were too. Now days are fast, the world is loud, We chase the noise, we lose the cloud. But in the quiet, I can find A trace of peace left far behind. And though the world may never be the same, I hold those moments, like a flame. A flicker soft, but burning bright, A memory of an endless night. But all things change, and seasons pass, Yet in my heart, those days still last. A time when hope was all we knew, When the world was still, and we were too. If I could turn the clock around, I’d seek that place where love was found. Where time stood still, and hearts aligned, And all the world felt intertwined. But as the years drift far away, I’ll hold those moments where they lay. In dreams, they’ll linger, soft and true, When the world was still, and I was you. But all things change, and seasons pass, Yet in my heart, those days still last (yes, they still last). A time when hope (hope) was all we knew, When the world (world) was still, and we were too (yes, we were too).
