I Am Speed

Garage rock, lo-fi recording with raw distorted guitar, gritty overdrive and a ragged guitar solo; punchy drums and driving bass hit a fast 160 BPM punk charge, with abrupt full-band stops, a bass-heavy bridge drop, then a chaotic drum-roll restart; manic male vocals shift from breathless spoken lines to shouted, screamed hooks and a soft-whispered ending

[Intro]
[Fast driving drum beat]
[Gritty guitar riff]

[Verse 1]
It’s three in the morning and my eyes are wide
Got a demon in my soul and a spark inside
Didn't eat no catnip, didn't drink no beer
Just pure unleaded adrenaline and zero fear
[Shouted]
Meow!
Floorboards rattling, claws out unglued
Tearing through the hallway in the nude
Slid into the doorway, bounced off the frame
Physics is a joke and I’m breaking the game!

[Chorus]
[Explosive chorus, heavy overdrive]
I am Speeeeeeed!
I am Speeeeeeed!
[Guitars stop abruptly]
Meow! Meow!
[Full band back in]
You can't stop a bullet on four legs, no indeed!
I am Speeeeeeed!
I am Speeeeeeed!
[Screamed]
Meow!
Look at me go! I am Speeeeeeed!

[Verse 2]
Ripped up the rug, knocked over the vase
Human in pajamas with a terrified face
[Shouted]
Meow!
Drifting round the corner on the slick hardwood
Burning rubber like a muscle car should
I jump on the fridge! I jump on your head!
Why would anybody want to sleep in a bed?
[Shouted]
Meow!
My tail is puffing up, my brain is in space
I’m setting land records all over the place!

[Chorus]
[Explosive chorus]
I am Speeeeeeed!
I am Speeeeeeed!
[Guitars stop abruptly]
Meow! Meow!
[Full band back in]
You can't stop a bullet on four legs, no indeed!
I am Speeeeeeed!
I am Speeeeeeed!
[Screamed]
Meow!
Look at me go! I am Speeeeeeed!

[Bridge]
[Tempo drops, bass-heavy rumble]
[Spoken, breathless]
Wait! Hold on!
[Music stops, dead silence]
Staring at nothing.
Did a ghost just blink?
Is that a speck of dust in the sink?
[Guitar feedback swells]
MEOW!
[Fast tempo resumes, chaotic drum roll]
FULL POWER RESTORED! BACK TO THE FLOOR!

[Chorus]
[Maximum energy]
I am Speeeeeeed!
I am Speeeeeeed!
[Guitars stop abruptly]
Meow! Meow!
[Full band back in]
You can't stop a bullet on four legs, no indeed!
I am Speeeeeeed!
I am Speeeeeeed!
[Screamed]
Meow!
Look at me go! I am Speeeeeeed!

[Outro]
[Fast distorted guitar solo]
[Shouted]
Meow!
Tire smoke everywhere!
Zero to sixty in half a second!
Meow!
[Music slows down abruptly, dragging tempo]
Out of fuel! Battery dead!
Collapsing right across your face!
[Soft whisper]
Meow.

[End]
