[Verse 1] White lines, black coffee Red eyes, chrome teeth Something in the engine Something underneath Six wheels turning Rain coming down A little red devil In a company town [Chorus] Hothead, running hot Give it everything you've got Hothead, never slow There's a place you gotta go Hothead, burning bright Two black horns against the night Hothead, don't look back There's a fire in the overpass [Verse 2] Brake lights bloom like roses The guardrail starts to sing A thousand tons of freight And a little piece of string Rubber, glass, gasoline A mouthful of the sun They say he hit the barrier But nobody saw him come undone [Chorus] Hothead, running hot Give it everything you've got Hothead, never slow There's a place you gotta go Hothead, burning bright Two black horns against the night Hothead, don't look back There's a fire in the overpass [Bridge] They found the truck They found the load They found the black marks On the county road They found the teeth They found the rings But the thing in the driver's seat Didn't have a name [Outro] Now there's a truck behind you Where the road runs out of light No number on the trailer Two red suns for eyes Don't race him to the county line Don't let him draw beside Hothead's got a head full of fire And nowhere left to drive.
