I wanted to explore that invisible connection between two people. The kind that doesn't need physical contact or even conversation. Sometimes it's a glance held a second too long, a movement you instinctively mirror, or the strange awareness of exactly where someone is without looking.

There's a constant contradiction running through this song.

"I said don't come closer. You came closer."

It's that playful battle between what you're saying, what you're thinking and what you're feeling. You try to stay composed, but attraction has its own rhythm.

"One step, two step. I move, you move."

I love the idea of two people becoming almost synchronised without realising it. Like opposite magnetic poles, there's an invisible pull between them. They move closer, pull away, resist, then find themselves drawn together again.

And that's why the music matters just as much as the lyrics.

I wanted the electro-R&B atmosphere, the Afro-club percussion and the repetitive, bouncing rhythm to make you physically experience that push and pull. The repetition of "Ma-ma-magnetic" isn't just a catchy hook. It's the sensation of attraction becoming a loop, something you keep returning to even when you try to break away.

There's humour in it too. Those moments when your confidence disappears halfway through a sentence, when you tell someone to back up and then immediately want them closer.

But underneath the playfulness, there's something more human.

We like to believe we're always in control of our emotions, our decisions and the connections we make. Yet sometimes a person enters our space and challenges that certainty without saying a word.
