TRUTH OF DE MATTER - DE KAISO ANCHOR by mediarogers

They make it sound like big injustice,
Like somebody slam the gate,
But when yuh check the facts with patience,
You realise the story late.
Because the man was told quite plainly,
“If Prime Minister cyah come, you can,”
So what is all this noise now really?
Tell the people, if you can.

Chorus
De truth of de matter,
Is not what they chatter.
Exception was granted,
So why all this scatter?
De truth of de matter,
Come clear like clean water.
He coulda go, but he didn’t go,
And now they blaming CARICOM after.

Verse 2
Yes, the retreat was Heads of Government,
Nobody disputing that,
Nobody asking CARICOM
To change the name because of that.
But once the special word was given,
Once the nod was made the night before,
Who say the whole thing get withdrawn then?
Show the proof, and show us more.

No message came to say “Stay home now,”
No reversal in the chain,
Nothing saying “you are barred now,”
Nothing anywhere that plain.
Seasick was the explanation,
That is what the record show,
So leh we stop this wild invention,
And call the thing for what we know.

Verse 3
Region watching in amazement,
Trying to make the puzzle fit,
But every time they push the storyline,
The whole thing sounding less legit.
Because if all of this was honest,
If all was straight and all was fair,
Why the argument keep changing so much?
Why the smoke all everywhere?

Dense or dunce, I doh know either,
That is not for me to say,
But plenty people asking quietly,
“What really going on today?”
Because we still believe the leadership
Could not be missing something so,
Which is why the wider Caribbean
Want the real truth now to know.

Bridge
No need to rename the meeting,
No need to rewrite the note,
An exception is an exception,
And that alone should keep afloat.
But if yuh get the green light already,
And nobody pull it back from you,
Then doh come later with confusion,
And expect the region to buy through.

Final Chorus
De truth of de matter,
Is stronger than loud chatter.
Facts beat performance,
And proof beat swagger.
De truth of de matter,
Come clear like clean water.
He had the chance, he missed the boat,
So doh put that on CARICOM after.

Outro
So leh we move from pose and posturing,
Leh we move from bacchanal and clatter,
Because after all the noise and grandstanding,
This is de truth of de matter.
