Thank you for calling Accountability. 📲📞 Press 1️⃣one to be told it never happened. Press 2️⃣two to discover your tone caused it. Press 3️⃣three to hear how your question injured our representative. To speak with Honest Repair Please remain on hold☎️ for the rest of your natural life. [VERSE 1 — GASLIGHTING] I called about a broken promise. You asked if I was sleeping well. I brought dates and screenshots. You brought a personality test from hell. You said, “That isn’t what occurred.” Then, “Maybe you’re confused.” Then, “Everyone agrees with me” a focus group I never knew. One disagreement isn’t gaslighting. Memory can miss; perspectives split. Gaslighting is the repeated pattern that makes you doubt your grasp of it. Facts keep changing. Certainty shrinks. Their version becomes the fee for peace, connection or belonging and slowly you stop trusting “me.” When one small question enters and my entire character gets reviewed, this may not be communication. It may be accountability getting professionally removed. 🤳 Press 1️⃣one: Deny. Press 2️⃣two: Attack. Press 3️⃣three: flip the victim till the facts can’t make it back. D-A-R-V-O—🚩🚩🚩 now the roles have changed. The person naming what was harmful is the person being blamed. Your reality is important to us. Please hold while we disconnect your trust. BEEP. This call may be distorted for quality avoidance. [VERSE 2 — DARVO CUSTOMER SERVICE] Deny says: “Our records show that incident does not exist.” Attack says: “Your tone is the real issue. How dare you bring a list?” Reverse Victim and Offender says: “Our agent feels unsafe. Your request for basic accountability has caused emotional pain.” Now they need your reassurance. You are defending how you spoke. The original harm is on vacation, posting selfies from the smoke. Your concern is important. Wonderful. Can you answer it? Your hostility has been documented.📋 There it is. 🤳 Press 1️⃣one: Deny. Press 2️⃣two: Attack. Press 3️⃣three: flip the victim till the facts can’t make it back. D-A-R-V-O—🚩🚩🚩 it’s a blame-transfer machine. The accused becomes the wounded one; the harmed one becomes “mean.” Your reality is important to us. Please hold while we disconnect your trust. Memory is not a perfect camera. Every brain rebuilds the scene. Stress can crowd working memory and make recall less clean. The amygdala tracks possible danger. It is not a courtroom judge. The hippocampus maps the context; under stress, details sometimes budge. The prefrontal cortex weighs the facts, but threat takes bandwidth too. When words and actions never match, the brain keeps asking, “Which is true?” Prediction errors keep arriving: warm, then cold; deny, then charm. The nervous system may start scanning every pause and face for harm. You rehearse simple conversations, save proof of every rainy day, and need a witness to confirm the furniture did not float away. Confusion is not proof you imagined it. A messy timeline is not consent. Sometimes fog is what the tactic makes not evidence there was no event. [VERSE 3 — ACTUAL REPAIR DEPARTMENT] Healthy repair has shorter hold times: “I remember it differently. Let’s compare.” “I see the impact.” “I own my part.” “What would help us repair?” A healthy person may get defensive and still return to what you said. They don’t cancel your reality to keep a halo on their head. An apology names the behavior, changes action, makes amends. It does not file a counterclaim because accountability offends. [THERAPY-ADJACENT MENU] For pattern recognition, press pause and ask: What was my original concern? Did we answer it at all? Do I leave with greater clarity or confused, ashamed and small? Can I set a simple boundary without punishment or threat? Does repair create new behavior, or just promises on reset? If safe, save the messages. Write down what happened while it’s clear.📋 Check reality with someone steady a trusted friend or therapist near. 👩🏽⚕️👩🏽⚕️🧑🏻⚕️👨🏿⚕️👩🏽⚕️👩🏻⚕️👩🏻⚕️👩⚕️👩🏾⚕️ Try: “I’ll discuss the original issue. I won’t continue through insult or blame. We can return when facts stay facts and neither person becomes the game.” If there is coercion, stalking or danger, do not confront to prove you’re right. Choose support, resources and safety. You do not owe the hotline a fight. 🤳 Press 1️⃣one: Deny. Press 2️⃣two: Attack. Press 3️⃣three: flip the victim but now I’m bringing the subject back. D-A-R-V-O—🚩🚩🚩 I recognize the game. Naming how the tactic functions is not causing it or assigning shame. My reality is not on hold. My compass is not yours to control. BEEP.📞 I’m ending this circular conversation for quality preservation.✂️ Would you complete a brief survey? ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely. Zero stars. [CLICK]
