[Verse] In the beginning was the Word so bright Shining through the dark bringing light Life with every breath a gift so pure In a world where shadows once endured [Verse 2] The Word came down to walk our path Silence broke with love's sweet wrath In flesh He dwelt among His own Yet many hearts were made of stone [Chorus] And the Word became flesh living among us Full of grace and truth to lift and free us Glory that we've seen like the Father's only In His light we'll never be lonely [Verse 3] He came to bring us life so full From heaven’s heights to love’s pull Rejected by His own creation Still His love bought our salvation [Bridge] Light in darkness breaking through He came for me He came for you Grace and truth His banner high In His presence we reply [Chorus] And the Word became flesh living among us Full of grace and truth to lift and free us Glory that we've seen like the Father's only In His light we'll never be lonely
